GLOCAL UNIVERSITY SAHARANPUR ORGANIZED “VEER BAAL DIWAS” ON 26th DECEMBER, 2022

Veer Baal Diwas is a day to commemorate and honour the young martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s sake. The day marks the martyrdom of the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. On 9th January 2022, the Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, PM Modi announced that 26th December would be observed as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to mark the martyrdom of the Sikh gurus four sons- Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh.

The Department of Students Welfare of Glocal University organized the event on 26th December, in the Medical Auditorium. The programme started at noon in the presence of Honourable Vice-Chancellor- Prof (Dr.) P.K Bharti , Pro Vice-Chancellor- Prof. Satish Kumar Sharma, and Prof Pankaj Mishra, Dean Academics Dr . Pramod Kumar, Registrar- Dr. R.D. Diwedi, Campus Director – Dr. S.P. Pandey, faculty members from different departments and students.

Dean Students Welfare enlightened students on the sacrifices made by the martyrs and paid tribute to the courage of the Sahibzades and their quest for justice. The Key Speaker of the event was Proctor - Mr Gurucharan Singh who narrated the full history Guru Gobind Singh Ji and four Sahibzades. 

Also, An essay writing competition, a two-minute talk and a drawing competition followed the event. There was also a screening of short documentary on Chaar Sahibzade. Many students participated in the competitions with full enthusiasm.

At last, the DSW team thanked and appreciated people and declared that the results of the competition would be announced in continuation with the coming event.
